Gee, she looks just the same!!! I'm not saying that she's done (I've gotten good at hiding the elastic which pokes out her left side), but it was time to turn the page, give her a name and snap a few more pics. Hey, it's an "update"... sort of, right? Once again, I'm slipping back into my old ways and letting the website rule the modeling: If I hadn't posted pics which looked "good 'nuff", I wouldn't have been seduced into believing that she felt finished. I wouldn't have then bought all that Belgian beer and kicked back with the Band of Brothers DVDs. So now, not finishing the figure has become a sacred duty. Well, she does have a wicked-looking spear now, huh?

Anyway, I've decided to call her Acme, a Princess of Heck ; that's the cheap generic version of Hell which is decorated with duct tape and red cellophane, and where the air is heavy with the stench of hard-boiled eggs. I'm saving the name "Bush" for a much scarier demon.

"Queen of the Demon Monkey Goddesses" is present to show you that you can revisit unfinished work anytime at your leisure, when you're no longer racing against the calendar to close a project article. She was treated to a full restringing (her photo session in the pond had weakened her elastic) as well as a brand new hula skirt because her thigh articulation seams began to bother me. Last year I was desperate to be done with the brutal project and towards the end, costuming was something that I didn't want to think about.

I've since picked up another "Men of Honor" figure (no surprise that they were deeply discounted), but I'll be damned if I'm gonna suffer through that nightmare anytime soon! (There are plenty of other things to revisit before that.)
